They call it stormy Monday, but Tuesday's just as bad.

#codekeepers know that we have a heART for it. And we share it not because loving you was red, but turquoise.

Dishing out the code is fun for us, and then there are times when we not only get to have fun but make a difference. Like dré's recent trip down the runway for Kris Owen's Fundraiser Benefit Fashion & Art Showcase.

And find fun ways to say thanks and show appreciation.

As well as connect with other fashionistas and be recognized by designers, which can make a girl feel pretty good!

Although we're West Coast girls by birth [ West Coast represent, now put your hands up, oh! ], we blog from coast to coast.

Some folks in Hollywood think the best way to sell a magazine is to be nude. But aren't you glad Katy Perry's first Vogue cover was everything but? And that's exactly what you'll find from us, an expression that will be edgy, layered, and always authentic. Oh, and most likely in no less than 3-inch heeled shoes. Have to keep it sensible!

[ Pomme ]

When dré and I went to NYC, we were given a couple gifts from her mom-- or Mom Pom as I call her because I get to claim her, too. Pom is so fancy, we should start calling her Pomme. [ French is so much fancier, oui? ] She gave me these fab earrings just to say 'have fun and I love you.' How sweet! Thank you, Pomme!

I hope your Tuesday is delicious!

A Comedic Cuff

I love summer festivals! One of the best things is finding little treasures made by local venders. I could hardly contain my excitement when I found this cuff! Made from the clip of a comic strip, it reads, "MEANWHILE IN THE CITY A FASHION VICTIM IS ABOUT TO MAKE THE WRONG CHOICE ON A PLAIN PROM DRESS." It's so fun! What do you think?

envelope clutch | JustFab
necklace | Forever 21
knuckle rings | Forever 21

I can still hear the tune to Tevin Campbell's Strawberry Letter 23. Remember that one? Love it. Every time I hear it, I get a little pep to my step. Just as I do when I throw on an accent color as bold as this strawberry blazer. Add in an eye-catching clutch and I've got the makings for the soundtrack to my runway.

Because you, my dear, are sitting on top of the world.

Kris Owens Fundraiser Benefit Fashion + Art Showcase

The time has come for me to walk! Though I walked in 3 shows just earlier this year for the UNCF fashion show, it feels like it's been far too long for me to hit the runway!

I'll be honest. I love the craziness, the hectic schedule, the artistic vibe surging through the room between hairstylists, makeup artists, and designers. And I can't fail to mention, I LOVE playing dress up!

So what could make this whole experience better than what it already is, then to make it benefit someone that's so deserving? By going to the Facebook event page for Kris Owens Fundraiser Benefit Fashion + Art Showcase, you can find out all the exciting details! I hope that everyone who is able to, can make it out for this great event!

This is one of my favorite looks I wore when I walked for Richard Blayne. I can't wait to see the fabulous ensemble I get to wear for this show!

Nutti Yogini

Last month, when I ran the Seattle Rock'n'Roll half marathon, I came across a booth at the pre race expo called Nutti Yogini. I was pleased to meet the creator, designer, and owner of the company, Jessica Alexander.

Her yoga style clothing can easily be taken from the classroom to the streets. This blush colored top I got, particularly caught my eye, and I'm in love with the gold accent of the brand's image label. As you can see, I had fun playing with gold accents throughout my outfit!

Accessories are so fun! The 'Edward Smiles' bracelet is something I won from the awesome jewelery designer Jules Smith a couple years ago. [ A few days before my birthday, matter of fact! ] My bird ring has a long history, too. It was a yearly purchase at the Central Washington State Fair. Yearly because I lost it. Every year. [ The original was purchased by my dad-- the consecutive ones, too. Hey, I was young! ]

What are some of your favorite accessories to wear?

[ Casual Monday ]

As you know, I spent the weekend roadtripping to and fro' Cincinnati. This definitely called for a casual Monday! Yes, I work in DC; and Yes I can wear jeans-- in the summer anyways!

The conversation from my colleagues was hilarious when they saw me in jeans. It went something like this: "Those are great! Are those new jeans?" Thanks! No, they're not new. "Really? I don't think I've seen them." That's because I don't wear jeans.

Haha!

Hope you're having a great Monday!

[ Traveling Light ]

What was supposed to be an 8 hour trip from DC to Cincinnati, OH turned into a 10 hour road trip. Met up with my dad and a few family friends yesterday for a tour around the city. Hangin' out with my dad a bit this AM, then back on the road to DC.

Looong time to sit down to say the least, but to see my dad, I would've traveled a 100 more miles.
