Bluegrass on Kingman Island

Last weekend I attended the 5th Annual Kingman Island Bluegrass Festival. I haven't been in two years, and let me tell it has come a long, long way! Like 10,000+ people long way!

I enjoyed myself so much that I ended up staying most of the day right at Main Stage. And although the forecast predicted rain, we were in the clear! Sunny, blue skies all day! The bands and singers were absolutely wonderful. (Sligo Creek Stompers really caught my ear!)

The above are a few photos from the event, as well as inspiration for summer concert looks (hover over pics for details). If you missed the music festival on the Anacostia River, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for it next year. You'll have a grand 'ole time AND support a great cause while you do!

Dark Persuasion

My husband's birthday was last weekend, so I took him to Leavenworth to celebrate. It was chilly in that Bavarian villiage, so I made sure to bundle!

While there,we paid a visit to the Icicle Brewing Company, where my husband sampled 8 of their local beers. I am absolutely repulsed by beer, however I took a walk on the wild side and had a sip of Dark Persuasion. It is supposed to taste like German Chocolate Cake, so I thought I'd give it a shot! Although I didn't love it, I defiantly could taste the cake:) Here's proof that I took the plunge!

Starthir

Yesterday was my cousin's big day! Kelly (the Matron of Honor) opted to go for Kristen Stewarts luscious waves. I absolutely love her choice! Rather than doing a twist on one side, we decide a braid would be more fun for her. I snapped a quick photo of her at the house and then one of her all decked out at the wedding. She's so dreamy!

The weather wasn't so fantastic, but that doesn't mean a girl still can't be fabulous! My big fur kept me cozy and my husband brought our trusty umbrella to keep us dry!

After the ceremony, the weather dried up, and I was able to get some shots of my dress. The blossomed trees were so beautiful! I'm glad we got to hang out ;)

Blossom

Only a couple weeks left before these blooms bid their adieu.
Every time I walk through, I'll sit in awestruck wonder until they do.
Gosh, I'm a lucky girl.

Have a beautiful day!

What'll It Be?

This Friday is a wedding. Not just any wedding. It's the wedding of one of my closest cousins growing up. Her sister (my ultimate partner in crime) is the Matron of Honor, and it's my job to make her look fab for the day!

Below are 3 looks that are perfect inspiration for anyone that is going to be a bridesmaid this wedding season, or even if you're just an attendee. I'm loving all three, but we want your opinion! Which look do you think Kelly should promenade in? Vote now!

Let the voting begin!
Which hairstyle is best for the Matron of Honor? You vote, dré styles!

Electric Easter

Happy Easter everyone! Jesus is alive!! After a fabulous church service, I'm off the spend the day with my family. It's handy that I chose to wear the outfit I did. My heels are a perfect distraction to make my girls' Easter egg hunt that much more difficult! I mean what's the fun in an egg hunt without a little challenge ;)

Schizo Spring

I don't know how the weather is in your region, but where I live, it can't seem to make up its mind. One day I'm breaking out my shorts, and the next I need a sweater. This can be tricky when you are so badly yearning to put your winter wardrobe away for good. But all you need to do is a little mixing until you get the thumbs up for summer weather.

Desperately wanting to pull out a spring skirt, but too chilled to bare my whole leg, I wore some over the knee boots. This is a perfect combo for breaking away from a heavy winter look and easing into something more light for spring! What do you think?
