Oh! Ombre!

Ombre is EVERYWHERE you look these days! If you have not jumped on this trend, there is a way you can take part in it, no matter how conservative or how daring you might be!

Because my first love is hair...this is where we will start! I want you to see how even a very subtle ombre can "amp up" a solid color.

My mom is a natural redhead who doesn't play with her color much. By lightening the ends of her hair, she gets the feeling of a "big change", while keeping true to her low maintenance color as she won't need to touch up her roots. Notice the difference in looks she gets even from switching her styling from straight to curly!

New York, New York! Fashion Week 2012

Happy Fashion Week, Lovelies!

No decoder needed here, we're ECSTATIC about all of the new trends that will walk down the runway at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week. So far, BCBGMAXAZRIA, Tadashi Shoji, and new comer Honor- to name a few- have graced the catwalk. Later in the week look out for DVF, Derek Lam, and Carolina Herrera.

The runways have our attention, but so do the fashionistas attending the shows. Take a look at the pics below:

Hair Rx

Happy New Year! Most people take this time of year to evaluate things in their lives and make a fresh start. Please don't stop at deciding to exercise and eat better...why not LOOK better while you're at it! Whether it's for a date, dinner with friends, or just a day at the office, here is an extremely easy way to dress up your "do"!

Start with dry hair at bedtime. This works best if you have NOT done any flat ironing beforehand. Your hair should be in its natural state with the option of mouse or gel dried into it if your texture is extremely fine.

Next you will start a french braid toward the top of your head. If you don't want as much curl at the top, you can start your braid lower.

What can we say, Alexander McQueen stole our hearts- again. Hailing from the Spring 2012 Ready To Wear collection, this piece from Sarah Burton dominated the runway. The detail is impeccable. A sleek fitting bodice, scaled skirt, and beautifully blended metallic silvers.

The Obsedia bag has been seen on Hollywood darlings including Zoe Saldana, so it's no wonder why it made Vogue's Top 20 It Bags of 2011. Forget dreaming about a white Christmas, we can't stop thinking about how haute this would look over red pants and a sandstone boyfriend blazer!

Most people would agree that they would love to have healthy hair.....they would also say that they are in such a hurry every morning, that they don't want to take the extra time to really style their hair.

When it comes to the health of your hair there is something that many of you have not thought of. Your hair is like fabric. It is delicate. You would not take your favorite "dry clean only" shirt and throw it in the washing machine every day. The same goes with your hair. Coloring of the Future

I recently styled this model for a photo shoot for the salon that I work at. I have a five year old daughter who loves to color. From there came my inspiration.....a blank coloring book page. My model is meant to look like a doll from a page of a coloring book who has been partially colored in. Being that I live in a world of fashion, I wanted to push the envelope a bit and give this doll a bit of a futuristic look with an over-exaggerated bun. Please Enjoy! xoxo Dré

So most of you know that winter can pay a toll on your skin. What some of you may not realize is that when it comes to what it can do to your hair, you are not the only one suffering! The more people I come into contact with during the winter months all have the same complaint: "This weather is making my hair have so much static!".

Well, you my friend are in luck! For those of you that do not know this nifty little trick, let me leave you with some insight. When you have finished styling your hair in the morning and are about ready to head out the door and your strands aren't exactly in place....grab a dryer sheet and smooth it over your locks!
