A New Decade

It's been two weeks since I hit the big 3-0 (and since our last post!), and I can tell you this new decade is feeling pretty good. I may have mentioned before that I'm not one of those girls that was sad to turn 30. After 3 decades of getting to know myself and fine tune, what's to be sad about? Finally, I feel completely confident in who I am. 

And excited for what's to come!

So grateful for all of the celebratory gestures from my friends and family-- thank you! And, of course, opportunities to get glam. For this look, I wore a skirt that was gifted to me by my grandmother. She gave it to me a few months ago, but due to an illness I'm recovering from, I wasn't able to wear it. So glad I got to wear it on my big day because it paired perfect with my faux fur ($20 steal from Targét!) and Stuart Weitzman pumps.

I'm looking forward to seeing how my style evolves, if at all. Especially since no one seemed to believe me that I was reaching 30 anyhow. Good genes. Thanks Mom + Dad!

Life in Indigo

It took me a little while to nail down #5 on my To-Do-Before-30 list. It wasn't until I was scrolling through Pinterest and saw a woman with a purple 'fro that I decided that's what color I was going to do. (Of course, I consulted with Dr. Dré first!)

So here it is, still too dark to notice on first glance, but the lighter strands are no longer. In fact, the most common reaction from colleagues (after having already seen me a few times) has been "IS YOUR HAIR PURPLE?!"

It's new, fun, and a bold way to kick of my to-do list. Wouldn't you agree?

30 Before 30

My Flirty 30 is coming up fast! And in the spirit of birthdays, I figured I would enlist your help creating my "to-do" list. So far I've only come up with ten...

1. Play lotto/scratch

2. Sing on a street corner

3. Day drinking (take a shot in the afternoon)

4. Audition for a reality show

5. Dye my hair a new, fun color

6. Sell something I've made

7. Go to a big music festival

8. Clean out my email (eep!)

9. Finish the first chapter of my book

10. Submit a piece of writing to 3 publications. 

As you can see, I need 20 more!! That's where you come in, dear reader. Throw out your ideas in the comments below to help me build my list. Just make sure it's along the lines of "you're too old to do that," so it feels like I need to complete it in my 20s. (It's just a guideline. No promises about keeping my inbox in check..)
