Parka This Way

There is one thing I thought about after purchasing my parka: why haven't I owned one of these before?! The large hood is fantastic. Its over-sized fit allows me to layer (I'm wearing size medium). And, the fur lining down past my shoulder blades makes me feel like I'm bundled in a blanket. How awesome it that?!

Been thinking about NYC a lot lately (stay tuned!), so I decided to get some winter street style inspo. I love these looks and def think I could add them to my wardrobe. What do you think?

When we look back at 2013, we see adventures had, goals reached, and new dreams to set our eyes toward. Here's to 2014! May we dream bigger, reach higher, and remain ever fancy!

The Nutcracker

Back in 2nd grade at Terrace Heights Elementary, we performed in the school production of The Nutcracker. (din was 8, dré was 7.) The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies has passed onto the next generation as Kiya, 7, and Adrienna, 4, were in their first production of The Nutcracker this year. Only they one upped us by performing with a professional ballet company at The Capitol Theatre in Yakima.

We took to our closets to pull out festive wardrobes for our evening at the ballet. din wore a long, one-shoulder fitted formal with a faux fur coat, and accessoried with gaudy jewelry and a skull knuckle clutch. dré wore a military style coat with a skater skirt and black tights. Her sky-high heels weren't enough to deter patrons from thinking dré was a part of the production-- "Are you the lead Mouse Cadet!?"

Our holiday reunion is starting off pretty fancy, don't you think?
