Mani Monday | Neon Glow

Happy Memorial Day everyone! I hope that you can all take a moment to remember the reason we celebrate this day, and that you feel blessed with the company of loved ones. For me, I'm soaking up spending one last day with my family all together before my husband leaves tomorrow for Hawaii. It will be 3 weeks until we join him in our new home, so quality time counts!

Today's mani is extra fun because it glows! This weekend we went thunder bowling. In case you've never done that or are not sure what it is, it's a late night bowling session where they turn off the regular lights, and turn black lights on. All the pins and bowling balls glow and there's upbeat music to set the mood. My little girls and I thought it would be the best choice to make sure that we wore things that would glow, including our polish. We may not have made a strike each time, but our manis certainly did! What do you think?

Mani Monday | Fun In The Sun

Shout out to all the hip chicks out there! There's a new cosmetic line in town and it's clearly just for you!

As part of the CapFABB fam, I had the opportunity to try out this new line and share with you, our fabulous readers. Verdict is: love it!

What I love is that even though the 'Fun In The Sun' Collection includes softer colors, the normal two coat application is all that's needed. Tell me how many other yellow nail lacquers can claim the same?! What's more is that the color and clear top coat dries fast. I didn't even need to apply my rapid dry polish. Now, I can get hip to that!

Mani Monday | Milkshakes + Manicures

Yup. So this is what I'm wearing in Dubai! Milkshake in hand, I went back to Oahn for another gel mani. It was about time, too, because I was so over seeing black nails! I decided to get gels again since I'll be traveling for 10 days and can't predict touch up opportunities.

Oahn was so patient with me. I went in with 3 semi-ideas and eventually came out with this modern design. (This one is based off another one of Bridget's recommendations. That girl's a keeper...) In order to show the lime/spring green, I had to apply filters to my photos. My poor iPhone and apartment lighting just wasn't enough!

What do you think of my more modern design?

[ Nail File: ] Orange You Glad There's a Disco?

First coat

Second coat

Third coat with Seche Vite

Essie | Saturday Disco Fever
Top Coat | Seche Vite Dry Fast

finale

For the most part, I'm an OPI kinda girl. It's the go-to, reliable brand for nail color both subtle and funky. Every once in awhile an Essie color catches my attention so I give it a shot. This time it's a bold orange color. One thing I have found in my personal experience with Essie is that it takes a lot of coats. Usually it's because of the consistency, but this time it was because of the dullness! After the first coat, it immediately started drying-- awesome! But it dried to a dull color-- not so awesome.

I added a second coat and it held some, but I took the photo before the dullness set in once again. Without a top coat, I would have been in trouble. Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat to the rescue! It added the intended shine, and I'm out the door in 5.

These two products are a pair. And I intend to wear them both several times this fall!
