Who's That Girl

www.codenamedredin.blogspot.com
Rachae Thomas | LA Film Festival 2013
You've probably seen her during the commercial break of your favorite show, or if you're a Lie To Me fan, then you've seen her on your favorite show.

Rachae has a personality that will capture you in an instant. It's emphasized with a bright smile, defined cheek bones, and natural curls that will make you want to run out and get a perm! Well, maybe not quite a perm, but you may consider storing away your flat iron for a day or two. All in all, from numerous commercial gigs and the small screen to Shakespeare and musicals, she's got everyone asking: Who's that girl?

I've had the pleasure to call Rachae a friend for a number of years now. It's always been exciting to see each new role she'd take on whether it would be acting or singing (girl can sang y'all!), and she now adds silver screen to her credits with her role as Katrina in Life of a King which just premiered at the LA Film Festival on June 22.

She's one of those girls who can wear a paper bag and still be as beautiful as ever! So, deciding on what to style her in wasn't so difficult. For this relatively casual red carpet affair, my vision was summer sunset orange, and we were able to capture that by adding that color heel to a whimsical lace dress.

Orange is a fun substitute for red when you are looking to add contrast to your dress.

Be sure to keep a look out for Rachae's upcoming projects because there's no doubt her performance will leave you agreeing she's that girl.

[ Cut ] Out

There is a trend taking place right now that is on the "dicey" side. Dresses that have been cut, chopped up, and stamped out to perfection have been seen on the red carpet by countless celebrities.

Pictured below is a page from the April issue of Vogue showing stars such as Karlie Kloss, Emily Blunt, and Kerry Washington turning heads in their cut-out dresses by Michael Kors and Prada.

If you're dying to get this look for yourself, but you're not willing to murder your savings account to achieve couture (though I will be the last to judge you if you choose to do so!), do not shed one tear! Check out the look I got for WAY less at Ross! It's sexy and fun, and it's cut in all the right places!

Don A New To Greet The Son

Happy Easter everyone! It's such a beautiful time of year! Blossoms on the trees, Easter egg hunts for the little ones, spending time with family, and celebrating the resurrection of our Savior!

I remember being a little girl and being SO excited to pick out a new Easter dress each year. Now I'm not so little, but I still can't resist getting something pretty and new for the special holiday, that I can then wear the rest of Spring and Summer.

I hope you all have a blessed Easter, and catch a bit of this absolutely beautiful sunshine I'm experiencing in my part of the country! Here are some photos of my fun new dress and the beautiful weather I'm enjoying!

Love is in the air

I don't know about you, but I love the day of LOVE! All the red and pink you see everywhere you look, PLUS flowers AND chocolate...what's not to love??

Wanting to be festive for any occasion I can, Valentine's Day is definitely an opportunity I choose to spruce things up! Below is my polish choice for this day of romance,JAG-U-ARE, by Essie. I've also photographed the hot little number I'm hoping to turn my husband's head in by Free People.

And of course I have to keep you all updated on the hair I'm wearing! Although it was a blast, I was getting a bit bored with my purple ombré, so I decided to switch it up. They say blondes have more fun. I guess I shall find out tonight;-)
