Yesterday I shared with you my fav winter coat, and this is what was going on underneath my massive parka! Strangely enough, the weather was very cooperative and pleasant earlier in the day. Then, by evening the winds picked up and the snow blew in! Did I mention I looooove my parka?!

To the Max

Some people prefer fall fashion because it's the kick off to layering seasons. I'm all for the creative outlet that this offers, but I am-- and always will be-- a summer girl! And, what's more perfect for summer than light-weight dresses? Thanks to Mossimo at Targét, all prayers are answered! I've got my maxi dress and my plaid (you know it's been on my mind); now all I need is a Southside or Moscow Mule and I'm set! (;

Carnaval Day 1

During my trip to Dominica, we just so happened to be in the country while Carnaval was going down. With such a festive and lively occasion, I found it my duty to dress for it!

The first of the the two day event included a huge parade, complete with gaudy costumes, lots of walking, and dancing into the night. These yellow hot pants I found while shopping in Portsmouth, were the perfect accompaniment for my day! Do you love them as much as me?

First Snow

Where I live, we have cold winters. Not Chicago cold, but still. Snow is not a stranger, and growing up, my cousin and I would always be delighted to have fresh snow for her November birthday. So far this winter, we've had nada!

Last month I had my mother/personal stylist, put me on her calendar for January 8th to do my color. How fun is it that on the morning of the 8th that I got to wake up to snow?! It goes perfectly with my new hair color and red lips, don't you think? Plus I got to have fun putting my Hunters to their waterproof test!

Keeping Cozy

I'm not a fan of cold. But alas, it's winter. And since winter will be here a couple more months, I'm doing my best to embrace what the season has to offer. 

Yesterday, my husband and I took our girls ice skating at a local outdoor rink. In attempt to stay warm and remain stylish, I chose layers that wouldn't give me too much bulk. To top it off, I wore my Hunters with their Welly inserts, to keep me extra cozy from point A to B. Like it?

Fresh

This morning was rough. I literally had to peel myself out of bed. I'm not gonna lie. It's been a tough week. I've been failing miserably on our 30 day challenge, and then I've had my own personal stuff to go along with it all.

As I put my feet on the floor, I recollected my phone call with din the night before. I had to keep going. So I got up, and put on the first clothes I could find. My hair went in a top knot, and a bit of makeup to go over what was left from the day before. 

After I met a friend for a much needed coffee date, I stepped outside to see the sun shining so bright, I knew it had to get better.

Fair Festivities

Every fall I get really excited about going to the fair! It's kind of like I'm 10 again. I'm not such a big ride person, but I love fair food and just looking around! Cotton candy and a footlong corndog were defiantly on my check list!

With my cotton candy and corndog happily dancing in my stomach, I thought my day was complete. That's before I saw camels! You best believe I have been wanting to ride a camel....and I didn't even have to fly to Egypt to do it!
