Underneath It All

Yesterday I shared with you my fav winter coat, and this is what was going on underneath my massive parka! Strangely enough, the weather was very cooperative and pleasant earlier in the day. Then, by evening the winds picked up and the snow blew in! Did I mention I looooove my parka?!

Anything But Cardio

Look what I found in Metairie! While I was on vacation in Louisiana about a month ago, I had to make a trip to the MAC counter. As I was passing through the mall, I was stopped in my tracks when I saw this shirt! Let's be honest, sometimes it takes a good 30 Day Challenge to get this girl a movin'!

As for the blossoms, it's time to say goodbye. (le sigh.)
At least this means sunny skies are on their way!

Enjoy your day!

Electric Easter

Happy Easter everyone! Jesus is alive!! After a fabulous church service, I'm off the spend the day with my family. It's handy that I chose to wear the outfit I did. My heels are a perfect distraction to make my girls' Easter egg hunt that much more difficult! I mean what's the fun in an egg hunt without a little challenge ;)

The Nutcracker

Back in 2nd grade at Terrace Heights Elementary, we performed in the school production of The Nutcracker. (din was 8, dré was 7.) The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies has passed onto the next generation as Kiya, 7, and Adrienna, 4, were in their first production of The Nutcracker this year. Only they one upped us by performing with a professional ballet company at The Capitol Theatre in Yakima.

We took to our closets to pull out festive wardrobes for our evening at the ballet. din wore a long, one-shoulder fitted formal with a faux fur coat, and accessoried with gaudy jewelry and a skull knuckle clutch. dré wore a military style coat with a skater skirt and black tights. Her sky-high heels weren't enough to deter patrons from thinking dré was a part of the production-- "Are you the lead Mouse Cadet!?"

Our holiday reunion is starting off pretty fancy, don't you think?

It's Time To Dance

[ took this shot in Steve Madden store to get the green light from the husband! ]

Last week when I was in D.C., I went with din to pick up lipstick from MAC at Nordstrom. As we were walking through the mall to catch the metro, these neon shoes caught my eye. That's an understatement. They stopped me in my tracks! Just like din, I also needed to shake things up and a little retail therapy was just the answer!

Since then, I have been waiting for the perfect occasion to bust out my hot new dancin' shoes, and tonight is the night. I'm on my way to my friend's wedding and we're going to celebrate the night away!

Independence Day

O, beautiful for spacious skies
For amber waves of grain
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain......

When I think of my beautiful country, I don't have to think much further than the little town I grew up in. A high desert with all four seasons, and agriculture like you wouldn't believe! Cheers to being an American today! If you have a Harley, ride it! And have some apple pie ;-)

America! America!
God shed His grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining
DC......

Missed are the days of apple orchards and blazin' Summer heat. Still, what better way to celebrate your country's independence than in its Capitol? Cheers to all my fellow citizens of this great land, and a humble thank you to all those who have served allowing us this day of celebration!

And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Party Don't Stop 'Til 6 In The Mornin'

No joke. You know how we do!

From Central Park to Hoboken, from SOHO to Times Square, we didn't just get around yesterday, we did it fashionably. Our day included a workout in the park (including burpees and high knees!), a stop at Carlo's Bakery, a trip to the NY famous Joe's Pizza (Leonardo DiCaprio approved) in SOHO, a cocktail hour at Broom Street Tavern, and finally a walk all over time square!! In case that doesn't sound time consuming enough, we should let you know we did not hit the hay until 6AM! I guess that's what fashion will do to you!

                                                   Central Park

My friend Niko from Gene Juarez met us for a drink and a slice of Junior's Cheesecake! And check out how din and I got mad photo bombed!

And finally Times Square!

Xoxo dré
