Get the Look! Laura Dern Golden Globes [ deCODED ]

The Golden Globes may be my favorite of awards season. This year, gorgeous dresses and intricate suits with bowties flooded the red carpet. Some women opted for full skirts and low chest-lines, but even the sleekest fitting dresses-- like Laura Dern's grey Roberto Cavalli number-- caught my eye.

Most likely because I instantly thought: Ooh! I could wear that there or there or there!

Here's how you, too, can take Laura Dern's sultry sequined look and make it your own!

The Dress
Find a dress that has the perfect tone for your skin and hair. Laura went with a warm grey, but you can go with any soft color that compliments you!

The Belt
Your dress is sequined...let it shine! A smaller bandwidth with smooth texture will be just the right touch. Try your local craft and fabric store, such as Jo-Ann's, and DIY a satin sash.

If you want to go more glam, try a bow-detailed belt like the one below. Just be sure the tones match with the tones of your dress's detailing!

What to look out for: Emma Watson's backless dress.

The Hollywood Starlet, famous for her role in the Harry Potter movie franchise, wowed at the Globes in Dior Couture. If anyone is going to start a trend, it will be Emma, and it will be from this look. We'll be sure to see our favorite trend stores like H&M incorporate their own version of this soon. Long backless cardigans perhaps? I'd wear that!

Shout out what your favorite Golden Globes look were in the comments below!

Hair + Couture + A Lesson From The Godfather....Yes Please!

I recently was a hair model for Matrix, in a Seattle hair show. It truly was an incredible experience in every way! I got to hang out with a bunch of extremely talented stylists for 3 days and wear couture....now that's what I call a weekend!

Darci Brown hooked me up with my gorgeous new blonde color, and I was styled on stage by both Nicholas French and Daniel Roldan.

Nicholas French has been called "the godfather" of hairdressing. Now I see why! I wish I could sit at his feet for a year and just watch him, listen to him, and assist him with his wig styling! I definitely left feeling like a learned a history lesson and full of inspiration!

Then there is Daniel. What an amazing artist! He has a strong point of view, and full of creativity and talent! Though he is a bit more quiet, don't let him kid you! This guy has jokes, and he and Nicholas had me cracking up with their commentary!

Finally, feast your eyes upon my wardrobe! The blue lagoon of gorgeousness below is by Roberto Cavalli. Ummmm...let's just say I never wanted to take it off, and Nicholas is lucky that it made it back into his bag! The beautiful red gown that I wore for the V.I.P. event is by Angel Sanchez. How fun to be so fancy! I even got to rock porcupine quills in one of my updos!

Harper's Bazaar - February 2013 - Fashion Preview - Jennifer Lopez

Remember in 2011 when JLo was named the Most Beautiful Woman by People Magazine? It's no wonder why she graced the cover of Harper Bazaar's Fashion Preview.

Who needs a Knight in Shining Armour when you've got Jenny from the Block holding it down? You have to agree, there's no damsel in distress here!
