WIW

I'm in love with this cardigan duster. And, it pairs perfectly with my semi-sheer Topshop maxi dress. Lovely pairing for a lovely Sunday.

Statuesque

Two of my friends from WA are visiting so we took a couple hours to walk around the National Mall. Per usj, swarms of people were also out and about (some local, some tourist). Among the black, white, and concrete buildings, there stood this giant mass. This is how I captured it.

What are your favorite art sculptures in DC?

Winter Wonder Plaid

If you've been paying attention to the news (or just stepping outside of your front door), you know that the arctic chill is still among us and freezing everything in it's path! Okay, that's a little stretch, but you get what I'm trying to say-- it's cold!

For some reason, my eye has been drawn to plaid these days. Now, even in my short walk to work, I daydream about long wool plaid skirts keeping me warm and cozy, and chic!

Here's a skirt from Topshop that I've been eyeing:

Topshop plaid tube skirt, here.

Bon chic, bon genre, no?

[ A New Bag ]

www.codenamedredin.blogspot.com

A couple weeks ago a friend of mine mentioned that she was going to Paris. Per usual, when folks prepare to walk where Coco walked, they're a little daunted by being under dressed. Truthfully-- and I've shared this with friends, clients, and now you!-- all you need is a great bag and great pair of shoes! While helping her find that great bag, I came across this Steve Madden 'Soho' tote, and have been thinking about it ever since!

Investing in a new bag can be cause for a lot of thought, though. When I was poking around, I also came across this awesome bowler bag that would go great on the days I decide to be more polished in my wardrobe. I'm such a trend chameleon!

How classy is this bowler bag from ASOS ?!

Finally, I've been kind of leaning towards a green bag. It's probably because it's the theme color I'm surrounded by 5 days a week, but nonetheless it's on my mind right now.

Oh, what to choose... what to choose... Which bag do you think I should choose? Let me know your pick in the comments below, or tweet me at sphereofdin.

Last week I was on a mission styling for an event and just happened to pop into Express. Out of the corner of my eye, something tribal caught my attention. Behold, the go-to shorts for summer.

In addition to the ikat prints, the bright solids and short-trouser denim options are swoon worthy as well. Seriously, I want them all.

And, of course, the electric blue:

I am fortunate that, come Summer, I can wear these to work. Express does a great job pairing the shorts with bright, electric blouses [ you've seen my obsession here ]. Here are some pairings I will try:
