Passionately

I'm obsessed with changing my look! You only get one life to live, so why not make it an exciting and thrilling one?! I personally can't understand why a girl would never want more than a "trim", or never change her color. That is the opposite of me!

At the start of the year I had a purple ombré. It was definitely a fun look, but as usual, I became bored, and decided I needed to be blonde. Well, my blonde had run its course, and I was ready to deepen my color once again. I took a brief pit stop at pink because of my charitable spirit, but I had my heart set on one particular shade. Red violet. It is the only color I have not tried ( besides, green or yellow...but let's not get crazy! ).

I'm absolutely loving this new hue on me! I feel like a new woman. More daring. More passionate.

Outside The [ Box ]

When it comes to art, I love a challenge. Trying something I don't normally do, to push myself in new ways, seeing what I'm capable of. So when I was asked to help this young lady, who is just starting her senior year, to change her look, I was up for the challenge!

Some may not know this, but the salon I work at is a specialty salon. This means that everyone specializes in one particular thing. Mine is design, which is only cutting and styling. I do not touch hair color. I was however, raised by a mother, who is a color champ, so I do have an eye for it!

Although I'm not as confident in this area of hair, I decided go outside the box of my comfort zone, and  get her as blonde as she requested! She was happy with the results, and I was too! What do you think of her new look?

There's A New Bombshell In Town

My friend Miel came to me yesterday looking for a big change, so change is what we gave her! With hair that had grazed her waist, she was looking for her own version of "the chop"! Off those locks came, and she was looking fabulous, but as you know, no transformation is complete without a fresh color!

Hot off the press with her new cut from me, I sent her to my mom, Sharon Gause, at Sharon's Hair Studio. She is a color educator for Matrix/Logics, and this lady knows her stuff! She enriched Miel's base color and melted it out lighter through the ends.

Below are the stages of Miel's transformation. Can we say bombshell?!

"The Chop", "The Karlie", "The Sharon"

My mom had been growing her hair out from a very short cut for the past 4 years and was getting an urge to switch things up. Waiting anxiously for the perfect inspiring style, there could have been no better timing for the discovery that was made.

Supermodel Karlie Kloss recently cut off her flowing locks into a hot little bob! The January issue of Vogue called it the "cut of the moment" while The NewYork Times deemed it "the haircut of the year". Many call this 'do "the chop" while others call it "the Karlie". Whatever you want to call it, I will tell you that I love it, and so did my mom!

Without hesitation, she had me sever her length, and donated it to Locks of Love<3 Below you can see the inspiration and the transformation!

How about a splash of COLOR??

It was a typical morning in November. I woke up, made my way to the bathroom, and looked in the mirror. Before me stood a person who just a few weeks ago I thought was beautiful, but somehow that had faded(literally) more quickly than I had anticipated :(

I recently got back from a trip to Mexico for a fairytale wedding and my favorite souvenir was my golden tan! It went hand in hand with my fabulous ombré hair, which I had worked so long to achieve! But now, it was gone....my tan that is..I had become as pale as I could be, my hair blended into my skin, and I felt officially BLAH!!

Tired of the typical "go blonde in the summer" and "go dark in the fall", I decided to give my locks a bit more variety. Purple it is!
