Start with dry hair at bedtime. This works best if you have NOT done any flat ironing beforehand. Your hair should be in its natural state with the option of mouse or gel dried into it if your texture is extremely fine.
Next you will start a french braid toward the top of your head. If you don't want as much curl at the top, you can start your braid lower.
Continue the braid as low as you can get it and secure with a hair tie. This is important because if there is too much unbraided hair at the ends, you will end up with weird looking straight pieces.
In the morning, remove the hair tie and take the braid out. Flip your head upside down and shake your hair out. Think of "shampooing" your scalp. While your head is still turned over spray hairspray and scrunch with your hands and then flip your head back up. Add more hairspray as needed.
