Who Wore It Better

I love looking through gossip magazines. One part in particular that I always find enjoyable to browse over is "Who wore it better". So, I thought it would be fun to take a journey through the archives of a few of my many hairstyles, and compare it to the celebrities who have made statements with the same 'do.

Ellen Degeneres | the crop

Heidi Klum | blonde glamour waves

Lady Gaga | platinum blonde with heavy bangs

Veruschka | long braid

Sarah Jessica Parker | subtle ombre

Katy Perry | purple waves

Blake Lively | tousled blonde

Nicole Richie | pretty in pink

Snooki | red violet siren

Jessica Alba | long bob

Isn't it crazy how different I look with each look?! Which one is your fave? I'd love to hear your feedback in the comments!

On Second Thought - The New App That Everyone's Talking About

"I think it'd be really cool if someone was like, 'you guys totally saved my marriage.'"

That's how the conversation with my dear friend Maci Peterson began. We sat down over coffee and Nutella so I could get the download on her ingenious new app. On Second Thought is the new messaging app that allows you to-- I kid you not-- recall your text messages. How? Simple. Swipe left.

"You never know when you need to be saved from yourself; or Autocorrect," Maci says. Which is why you should adopt OST as your primary messaging app. Fortunately for Android users, you can do it now. As an entrepreneur, Maci has several ideas brewing, but this became priority once numerous stories (and personal experiences!) surfaced proving it was time. And, as South by Southwest's winner for 'best start-up pitch' last year, it's clear the timing is right.

That's not the only indication though. Maci believes that by her leaving room for God to move, the app is truly going places she couldn't have imagined. Faith. It's the secret recipe that's not so secret. Even business partners, Gary and Stuart, are proof of this. She admits that by embracing this structure, this venture is not only gaining success, it's fun!

You might be wondering how this is related to style. Honestly...everything. It's a lifestyle enhancer. Connecting over social media/text messaging has pretty much engulfed our way of communicating. Thanks to On Second Thought, we all can add value to those points of connection. One that, in the words of my friend, "actually changes lives."

"We're doing more than just recalling messages....we're saving relationships," She continued.

It's true. I personally could have used this app a few years ago when I sent what seemed to be a harmless text ended up being really hurtful because it was sent to the wrong contact. I don't think I'll ever not feel bad about that mistake. Now whenever I text, I double (sometimes triple!) check the recipient. Ridiculous, right? Needless to say I'm the first one in line once it's released on iOS!

Last month I shared that I was in Indianapolis for a conference. How perfect that they had an "Appy Hour" where I could share my excitement about this brilliant app! All the tech-savvy folks were excited about the app, too. Who wouldn't be? Forget embarrassing texting mistakes-- just Ost it!

Here's the breakdown:
- Free to download
- 20 free recalls per month -OR-
- $1.99/mo for unlimited recalls
- Curfew settings

Are you ready for #NoMoreTextRegret?

The Fog

It's been so foggy here for the past few days. I've never been one to view the fog as a beautiful thing, but I couldn't help but notice its beauty yesterday.

As I drove alongside a cliff, I had to get out to catch a better look at the fog filled canyon. It was quiet. It was still. It was full of mystery. Our creator is amazing.

Mani Monday | Emerald Fitzgerald

Shout out to the Emerald City, jazz great Ella Fitzgerald, and of course…Gatsby. This glitzy color will look great on a multitude of skin tones. Its deep green has a hint of sparkle and a whisper of blue coming through. It was a gift from my sister (thanks, Pam!), but I found a link below so that you could gift yourself!

What's your mani saying today?

Casual Friday

TGIF. You have no idea. I'm looking forward to a chill weekend and catching up on everything I've gotten behind on this week such as laundry...and the rest of my life.

As far as my look goes, I'm ultra comfortable and casual. I'm even wearing some over-the-knee socks under my skirt to keep my legs extra cozy. My boots are not only adorable but practical. They are weather proof, which comes in handy with the little rain outbursts we've been having!

Have a great weekend everyone!

A Diehard Fan

I'm all about makeovers. Last summer when I colored my hair deep green, I was flipping through photos of fun Pravana color with my dad, and it was then that he promised me that if the Seahawks made it to the Superbowl again, he would let me color his hair to match the team. So basically this entire football season, I've been anxiously awaiting the moment that I would give him a Seahawks makeover!

I didn't waste a second getting him scheduled with me this week. I'm super excited with how it turned out! My dad was a little nervous about what I'd do to him, but upon seeing the result, he got pretty excited too. So glad my dad was a trooper and let me have my fun with his hair. Go Hawks!!

State Of The Union, FLOTUS Style!

2009 - Narcisco Rodriguez
2010 - Isaac Mizrahi
2011 - Rachel Roy
2012 - Barbara Tfank
2013 - Jason Wu
2014 - Azzedine Alaia
2015 - ???

Tonight is President Obama's State of the Union address and one thing everybody is wondering is what is the First Lady going to wear!? Whether you're wondering from a political standpoint (is it conservative enough, an American designer; etc) or a style perspective (who'll be the lucky designer, will it spark a new trend), you know you wanna know!

Often several designers will submit a dress and they won't know if it was chosen until they see, in this case First Lady Michelle Obama, step out in it. That's what happened to Jason Wu a few years back and his career took off like The Flash.

The address begins tonight at 9 EST. Tune in to see not only what our gorgeous First Lady will be wearing, but get informed on what's going on in our country!

What style of dress do you think Michelle Obama should wear tonight?

Black Lights

Last night was a girl's night out for me and my good friend. We may have had a little too much fun taking photos in the black lit room. But, hey! When you're feelin' it, you'd better take advantage! Did I mention my nail polish was glowing?
