[ Who Stole the Show? ]

There are two things a fashionista loves: 1) Fashion Week 2) A red carpet event.

Yesterday, the 65th Emmy Awards had men and women dressed to impress. My eye kept being drawn to the elegant ladies in white. Kerry Washington (above) stunned in Marchesa. Absolutely loved her in this. I also liked that Kiernan Shipka's full-skirted floral look was both fun and age-appropriate.

Kerry Washington is this month's cover story. Her humbleness is infectious in the most desirable way [ her co-workers vouch! ]. If you don't watch the hit series Scandal, pick up a copy of Elle and let this article be the window into why this starlette is the "luckiest broad in Hollywood."

Unlike other American favorites, Kerry's journey to her big break comes after appearing in over 30 major and indie projects. As her work has mostly been in supporting roles-- most recently Quentin Tarantino's highest grossing box office hit 'Django Unchained'-- it is a testament to her perseverance and aptitude as an actor that she is now a lead on primetime television.

She's smart. Ultra talented. And Gorgeous to say the least. Even the Pope will tell you that when it comes to Washington, you're sure to get Kerry-ed away!

[ Cut ] Out

There is a trend taking place right now that is on the "dicey" side. Dresses that have been cut, chopped up, and stamped out to perfection have been seen on the red carpet by countless celebrities.

Pictured below is a page from the April issue of Vogue showing stars such as Karlie Kloss, Emily Blunt, and Kerry Washington turning heads in their cut-out dresses by Michael Kors and Prada.

If you're dying to get this look for yourself, but you're not willing to murder your savings account to achieve couture (though I will be the last to judge you if you choose to do so!), do not shed one tear!
