Mani Monday | Members Only

Last week, dré showed us a softer way to celebrate Valentine's Day, but this week I'm revvin' it up! A friend of mine had a hot pink color on that really caught my eye so when I walked by this bottle at the local CVS, I had to give it a try. As you've noticed, I'm an OPI girl, but I am happy to say that this polish is just as appealing on as it is in the bottle.

Goes on smooth, thick, and dries evenly. I don't need Cupid's arrow to fall in love with this one!

Mani Monday | Chic From Ears To Tail

Happy Monday! Can you believe that it's already February?! Welcome to the month of love. Valentine's Day is less than 2 weeks away, and I have some fun polish to get you in the mood.

When most people think of Valentine's Day, the first color that comes to mind is red. But let's not forget about a softer alternative. Pink can be romantic and flirty, and I found the perfect shade that's sugar sweet!

OPI's Minnie Mouse collection is full of festive colors that are just what Cupid ordered. The hue that I've completely fallen for is Chic From Ears To Tail. Doesn't it just make you want to dress in lace and lie in a field of flowers?!

Mani Monday | OPI Push & Pur-pull

For New Years, I chose Push & Pur-Pull from OPI's neon collection. Normally I do my own manicures, but I'd been busy and the salon was having a sale. Per my usual experience, I walked away thinking: I could've done that better; but at least I had a chance to be pampered, right?

The color is actually gorgeous. Not so neon, but after a few coats and a top coat, it had a really nice sheen. Now, I say "a few" because it streaked when applied. Although the nail technician's brush stroke wasn't the most concise, I could still tell it wasn't the easiest color to work with. In fact, it reminded me of Essie polish which often streaks for me. (I know this is not everyone's experience.)

I plan to try this color again; self-application, of course. I'll let you know how it goes!

Black

Some days, nothing beats an all black outfit. This was my mood yesderday. I rocked my faux leather pants, with these boots I just got at Zara when I was in Hollywood. What do you think?

Electric Easter

Happy Easter everyone! Jesus is alive!! After a fabulous church service, I'm off the spend the day with my family. It's handy that I chose to wear the outfit I did. My heels are a perfect distraction to make my girls' Easter egg hunt that much more difficult! I mean what's the fun in an egg hunt without a little challenge ;)

[ Nail File : ] Push and Shove

We are loving Gwen Stefani's collaboration with OPI, Push and Shove! This metallic reflecting polish will make you oooh and aaah over your nails all night (but try not to stare at them if you're on a date). It's foil finish can be achieved in a short application time if you've got steady hands and are a polishing pro! If not, don't worry, take your time. It's worth the wait.

Things to note: The base coat, Lay Down that Base, dries fairly quickly. When applying Push and Shove, depending on your bottle's brush, you may notice that the brush leaves streaks as you glide it over your nail. Don't worry! Add a tiny bit more of polish to your brush on your second coat. It'll smooth out those lines as it dries. Remember, no top coat! Finally, it's categorized as a one night only wear polish because, like foil, it imprints. Still, you can probably get a couple days out of it before it starts looking too rough.

Okay, rock star. You're ready for your duet! Pick up OPI Push and Shove at your local beauty supply store, or order here.

Foiled

Have you ever set a goal only to watch it foil right before your eyes?

If you're human, it's inevitable. Take for instance my experience yesterday with Sunday football. While I watched the Saints and the Seahawks win, in front of me sat a huge plate of nachos... alas, my Sunday effort toward the 30 Day Challenge foiled! [ And I'm not going to mention the funfetti cookies dré made... ]

My nachos may have slowed me down, but they're not going to keep me down! I've still got my eyes on the prize! Sometimes, all it takes is a little glitter to re-focus...

I chose a silver-foil color that's loaded with glittery goodness to uplift my spirits. And, if you're feeling that the work towards your own goal is frustrating or difficult, you should try it, too! Just grab your fav glitter polish and hit the reset button. Besides, it's Monday, and everything starts over on Monday! (;

Global Warming | Tropical Storm

Sometimes the blend of the globe warming and a tropical storm approaching gives way to 90 degree days in October. You bet your bottom dollar that I took advantage!

My niece became fascinated with my Red My Fortune Cookie manicure and helped herself into the photo. I think she made the shot.

[ Nail File: ] Grey Note

OPI's Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine! (grey) and Pirouette My Whistle

There are certain greys that I find gorgeous. Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine! by OPI is definitely one of those greys. I paired it with a little sparkle by bringing some of the Pirouette My Whistle over it -- some nails are half coated, others three quarters. (Similar look here.) Of course, I topped it off with Seche Vite's Dry Fast Top Coat and am out the door in 5!
